Accounting & Finance Analyst

Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Accounting and Finance Analyst is responsible for various general accounting functions including month end closing, reporting and analysis, fixed asset administration, and other ad hoc projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform monthly variance analysis vs. forecast and prior periods
  • Review and improve internal controls and Accounting/Finance policies and procedures
  • Reports and administers Fixed Asset/Other Asset reporting and administration, including leading fixed asset verifications.
  • Completes Sarbanes-Oxley compliance testing and reporting, including planning and project management.
  • Prepares sales and use tax filings and coordinate with Fortive corporate on state/federal tax compliance and accounting activities.
  • Assists Controller with ongoing and special projects as assigned, including implementation of new accounting standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED
  • Bachelors in Accounting
  • MBA or CPA a plus.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience; would consider recent college graduate with relevant internship experience
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong PC and Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Superior ability to multi-task and prioritize
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Sarbanes-Oxley experience
  • Manufacturing accounting background


OTHER FUNCTIONS
May be assigned various projects and responsibilities at the sole discretion of the Controller


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
