Assistant Controller

Description

The Assistant Controller- Americas is responsible for various general accounting functions including month end closing, reporting and analysis, fixed asset administration, and other ad hoc projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Support month end close process, including preparing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, reviewing journal entries submitted by team members, and monthly variance analysis vs. forecast and prior period.
  • Assist with site submission of monthly financial results and supplementary information to corporate.
  • Oversee working capital cycle including payables and receivables management.
  • Review and improve internal controls and Accounting/Finance policies and procedures
  • Fixed Asset/Other Asset reporting and administration
  • Lead Sarbanes-Oxley compliance testing and reporting
  • Oversee preparation and filing of sales and use tax filings
  • Lead implementation of new accounting standards and systems projects, including documentation and tested as needed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED
  • Bachelors in Accounting required. MBA in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • CPA preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Sarbanes-Oxley experience preferred
  • Manufacturing accounting background preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong PC skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Superior project management skills
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Team leadership experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing accounting background preferred.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
